Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has been dragged into the lesbianism scandal three times. The first time it was with her foundation, Pinkies which was discovered to be comprised of only ladies.
The actress debunked the rumours saying that the foundation was never a vessel to promote lesbianism and prostitution among young ladies. She added that the foundation serves as a vessel for succor to the less privileged, especially those with physical disabilities.
In 2016, She told Encomnion on the 5th Anniversary of The Pinkies Foundation was established purposely to enable her to give back to the society that made her by channeling a larger part of her resources towards giving hope to the hopeless and make them have a sense of belonging in the society.
“What happened at the beginning was that people misunderstood the group because of its name (Pink Ladies). So, a lot of people took it the other way round, thinking it was a lesbian group or for prostitution.
"Those that have come and gone will testify to what we’re doing. So, when you have a positive project, being an actress, people tend to term it in different forms. But if you’re focused and you know you have a positive aim, it’s just a matter of time. So, The Pinkies Foundation has been able to show itself to the public what it is and what it has come to represent"
“With the foundation, we have touched a lot of lives, and we’re still going to do more, especially for those that are physically challenged"
“Even, we have one of them on our scholarship scheme, we have been sponsoring the boy for the past two years. We’re still doing it, and we will never stop.”
However, another lesbianism scandal broke when reports started flying around that when she threw a lavish birthday for her personal assistant.
In February 2017, Iyabo had shocked her PA, Gbeminiyi with a brand new car for her birthday and the internet went agog over such a nice gesture.
To make matters worse, an eye-witness claims the car was a gift from one of the ex-boyfriends of Iyabo Ojo, who happened to be a minister in the church. The car was a Christmas gift from members in his Church but the minister gave it to Iyabo who in turn dashed it out to Gbeminiyi.
The actress's action got Nigerians wondering if truly the relationship between Iyabo Ojo and her PA is not out of the ordinary.
A church member sent some notes to the controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo claiming Iyabo Ojo, used assorted charms to sleep with popular Port Harcourt pastor, David Ibiyeomie, who is the founder of Salvation Ministries.
Kemi Olunloyo, shared the church member’s claims on her HNN Page on Instagram, before the post was pulled off on the social media platform.
The source wrote;
“We learnt that he has been spending the church’s money on this girl and some other Nollywood actresses to the point that Iyabo and Vivian Metchie had a nasty fight on him."
"After catching her in bed with a boy she picked from the club. She has used juju on our pastor. The range rover 2008 model she uses now used to be in our pastor garage before he dashed her."
The Toyota corolla she claimed she bought her PA last year is one of the cars that her former minister ex-boyfriend dumped her after church gave its members for Christmas. This story was almost out last year but she paid off the press with cash and her body.”
Rumor has it that the duo might actually be lesbians which might be the reason why the actress is always showering her with gifts, something many noticed, she usually doesn't do for others.
In the same year, popular pastor, Apostle Suleman was embroiled in a s3x scandal in which names of several Nollywood actresses including Ruth Kadiri, Daniella Okeke, lyabo Ojo amongst others were mentioned.
Iyabo Ojo was not mentioned by Otobo but actress, Cossy Orjiakor in a post described a Yoruba actress with small stature and an angelic face had been involved with a Port-Harcourt based pastor.
Days later, another lady identified as Stephanie Ogbonna accused Suleman of having slept with lyabo Ojo and herself in lyabo's house.
She wrote on Instagram,
“I have been very silent on Apostle Suleman's issue because I want to see how far he is willing to take this lie.
“I had to come on Instagram to put my story out there.
“I met him at the airport in Mombasa Kenya and he took my contact. We had s3x in Dubai on that trip.
“He called me two weeks after and invited me back to Nigeria cutting short my trip to Dubai.
“He bought me a business class ticket and sent me an address in Agungi area of Lekki to wait for him at his girlfriend’s house as he would want us to have a threesome as he enjoyed my breasts.
“Lo and behold the house was the house of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo (@iyaboojofespris) in an estate called 5Streets in Agungi.
“She made me comfortable and told how she doesn’t mind whatever the pastor does as long as he keeps giving her money.
“He had just rented the house for her. She said her black range was giving her problems as it was also in the mechanic’s place.
“Apostle came in around 11 pm. He drove himself in a black Gwagon and his driver drove a silver range one of his other cars.
“After our round of s3x in Iyabo Ojo’s room, he gave her the keys to the range that she should sell the black range off since it was old already.
“He gave her $3000 to send to her son in the US as he was said to be taking a trial exam and needed to pay some bills.
“He gave me $5000 and a key to a room at Protea hotel. I called Uber and went to the hotel to wait for him.
“He came on the third day on his way to Abuja and gave me another $2000.
“He is a nice man and the sugar daddy of most Nollywood actresses. But for God’s sake, he should stop lying.
“@iyaboojofespris, you can say this is a lie but in your heart, you will know it’s true.
“How you told me you don’t make money from films but you are just doing it to keep your face and you know Suleman carries your bill.
“Do you remember the house you told me Suleman is building at Osapa and he had promised he will give you to live in.
“When I felt shy about our threesome you told me that you arrange that for him always because its what he enjoys and even jokes that even if he wants to have with you and your daughter together, you will allow him.”
Iyabo however took to her Instagram to refute all allegations pointed at her. The actress urged her fans to refrain from listening to lies. It was a messy year for all parties involved.
Iyabo Ojo's first role was in 1998’s Satanic, an English-language film. In 2002, she made her Yoruba-language debut with Baba Darijinwon.
In 2004, Ojo started producing her own films, her first production being Bolutife, after which she made Bofeboko, Ololufe, Esan, and Okunkun Biribiri. In January 2015, her movie Silence, which features notable Nollywood actors premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas, Ikeja, in Lagos.
