Two Nigerian music stars make President Obama’s 2016 Summer Playlist

















President Obama recently dropped
his 2016 summer day and night playlist tagged ‘Summer POTUS playlist’ and it’s been a big deal on social media.





Unveiling his 2016 playlist via Spotify, the president gave the world a sampling of his eclectic selection of music, which is divided into more upbeat, “daytime” songs and slower “nighttime” songs and features a wide blend of legendary artists culled from across several decades.

The list includes Jay Z, Nas, Chance the Rapper, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin, D’Angelo, Method Man and The Beach Boys. Others are Janelle Monae, Aloe Blacc, Sara Bareilles, Floetry, Ledisi, with several oldies like Billie Holiday.


Two artist of Nigerian origin, Rapper Wale and Jidenna also made the 39-track list, which a roster at The White House said Obama had “hand-picked” himself.
