Iwobi Nets Brace in Eagles Friendly

Nigerian and Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, scored two goals in a friendly game on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles defeated Plateau United 3-0 in the game played in the National Stadium, Abuja.

The 20-year-old scored his two goals on the second half after KAA Gent midfielder Anderson Esiti, 22, had opened the scoring in the first half.

Iwobi crowned a superb individual display in the 54th minute when he combined well with Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho to double the lead.

He fired his second goal on the stroke of full time off a rebound.
The friendly game was arranged in order to allow the Super Eagles gel ahead of their World Cup 2018 qualifier against Zambia in Ndola this weekend.

The support for the team was overwhelming as fans were undeterred in spite of the heavy down pour.
The players got mobbed by fans who infiltrated the pitch at the end of the game.

The fans took selfies with some of the players, particularly Ogenyi Onazi, Kenneth Omeruo, while Iwobi was shielded from the baying mob to the changing room.
