The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 42 year-old man, Mr. Samuel Omosaba, for allegedly beheading his three year-old niece, Adubarin Kola at Ilepa quarters in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East local government area of Ondo State.
Omosaba, who is unemployed and yet to marry, allegedly contacted an herbalist in Ipe-Akoko to assist him with money-making rituals.
 According to Daily Post, the herbalist told him that the only way to make him rich was for him to look for the head of a baby.

Meanwhile, the deceased (Adubarin) was always put in custody of her grandmother at Ilepa quarters in Ikare anytime her mother, Bunmi, who is a trader, was going to the market to sell her goods.
On the unfortunate day the little girl met her untimely death, her mother was said to have taken her to her paternal grandmother but were met by Omosaba, Adubarin’s father’s elder brother, who promised to look after her until her grandmother returns home.
Later in the day when she returned from the market, Bunmi headed for her mother-in-law’s place to pick up her daughter only to be greeted by the sight of her lifeless daughter in her uncle’s room.
The suspect was said to have confessed to the family members that he killed his niece for ritual purposes.
Omosaba was nearly lynched by aggrieved youths in the community but for the timely intervention of the police.
 The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, said the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department in Akure, the state capital, for further investigation.
