 Fertility is the natural capability to produce offspring. As a measure, fertility rate is the number of offspring born per mating pair, individual or population.

Pregnancy , also known as gestation , is the time during which one or more offspring develops inside a woman .A multiple pregnancy involves more than one offspring, such as with twins.

In Africa especially in Nigeria because I'll like to say about the things I know, most of the families here give birth to three children and above, thank God for civilization that has changed the mentality of "giving birth to Alot so that they'll help you in farming". So most people these days control their number of wards, some by the use of Birth control pill, Contraceptive implant and so on. With that said, having up to 12, 15 children or more like our great grandparents had those days has been checked, so seeing a mother now with such large number of children, you'll be amazed, and wonder the weight she has to go through from baby Bump, honestly Our Ladies are Really Well deserved to be Appreciated, so let me fill you in some women who gave birth to over fourty Children.

 A woman from Uganda who's known to be the Most fertile woman in the world currently after giving birth to 44 children,and a Russian woman according to Guinness World record holds the title “the most prolific mother ever,” the woman went through 27 labors: 16 of them resulted in twins, 7 in triplets, and 4 in quadruplets.

Ugandan families are often large with women having 5.6 children on average.This is one of the highest birth rates in Africa but even by these standards, Mariam's family is enormous.

1.Mariam Nabatanzi suffers from a rare genetic condition which makes her to hyper Ovulate which is releasing multiple eggs in one cycle, she had given birth to 44 children by the age of 36.At just 23, Mariam had 25 children and desperately begged her doctor for help to stop her having any more.

The husband left her for good after mariam's last sixth set of twins, one of the babies died though. "I have grown up in tears, my man has passed me through a lot of suffering, "All my time has been spent looking after my children and working to earn some money."- Mariam said.

2.Feodor Vassilyev (Russian: Фёдор Васильев, older spelling: Ѳеодоръ Васильевъ) (c. 1707[1] – 1782) was a peasant from Shuya, Russia. His first wife is claimed to have lived to be 76 and, between 1725 and 1765, have had 69 children (16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets); 67 of them survived infancy with the loss of one set of twins: the record for most children born to a single woman. However their name, date of birth, and date of death are all unknown.

Vassilyev and his first wife are alleged to hold the record for the most children a couple has parented. She gave birth to a total of 69 children – sixteen pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets – between 1725 and 1765, a total of 27 births. 67 of the 69 children were said to have survived infancy. Allegedly Vassilyev also had six sets of twins and two sets of triplets with a second wife, for another 18 children in eight births; he fathered a total of 87 children. The claim is disputed as records at this time were not well kept.
